Old MacDonald's Farm Essex

Old Mac Donald's farm and fun park located in Brentwood is one of the best family friendly attractions in Essex. Accessible by different modes of transportation such as your personal car or any public transport, the farm park is one of the favourites for days out with kids and is especially popular among the children. There is ample free parking for the visitors who are first greeted by Daisy, a beautiful white pony before heading to the entrance to purchase tickets.

The entrance is through the gift shop, and then comes a huge indoor soft play area for kids with a cafe just opposite, so the adults can enjoy some grub while the children get busy in play. The farm cafe serves both hot and cold food or snacks and have plenty of options for everyone including vegetarian and Halal food to cater to their vegetarian or Muslim visitors. Some of the farm cafe's menu items include sandwiches and bagels, burgers, jacket potatoes, salad bowls, hot food and sides, kids meals, snacks, cold or hot drinks. Of course, you can also grab an ice cream later too! Food can be ordered at the till and a number is then given to the customer, who can collect the food order when the number is called. In this way, you won't have to wait while the food is being prepared, but the kids can still carry on playing. Moreover, the visitors are also allowed to bring their own picnics and that they can enjoy on one of the many outdoor picnic benches and tables that have been provided at the farm park.

The farm animals are always the favourites among the children and BabyN' loved petting a few! Old Mac Donald's has over 30 different species of animals such as meerkats, pigs, rabbits, ponies, cows, tortoise, llamas, goats along with animal information signs that are perfect for educational purpose. The farm also has the hatchery, where the visitors can meet the newly born animals  such as chicks. Also, they have one of their wonderful European Eagle Owl and the kids can  also get a chance to meet some animals face to face.

All these are free to ride with the green wristband provided at the entrance.

Special events such as meet and greet with famous characters including Paw Patrol, PJ Masks, Peppa Pig and George are also quite popular among the visitors and we were lucky enough to meet Chase and Skye from Paw Patrol on the day we visited Old Mac Donald's Farm park. BabyN' is really fond of the Paw Patrol and he was absolutely delighted to meet them face to face.

Old MacDonald’s Farm also supports the local community and charity by donating free tickets and holding fund raising events for the purpose of raising money for various causes. For 2018, their chosen charity was Starlight that was formed for sick children. Also, the farm is dedicated to preserving the lives of endangered wild animals and they support causes International Otter Survival Fund (IOSF) and The Zoological Society of Hertfordshire (ZSH).

Old MacDonald's Farm is open 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm, and is also perfect for celebrating your child's birthday party too, and before leaving the farm, you can always buy souvenirs or toys for the children from their gift shop. We had an absolutely brilliant time at the farm and would love to visit again in future.
