Lea Marston Hotel, the 117 bedroom 4-star family run hotel has been set across 54 acres of North Warwickshire countryside, exactly located in Sutton Coldfield and is close to Birmingham city centre and the popular Drayton Manor Theme Park. Besides having a two-AA-rosette restaurant, the hotel also has a 9 hole golf course and is perfect for events such as conferences, weddings and works equally well as a banqueting venue. Lea Marston Hotel is the sister establishment of The Abbey Hotel in South Birmingham. I've also shared my experience of staying at The Abbey Hotel in one of my previous blog posts, which you can read here

Lea Marston Hotel has their own car park, which is complimentary for the hotel guests. We had a very smooth check-in after which we headed straight to our room on the first floor where we were greeted by a welcome card and a tray with some tea/coffee and biscuits that had been piled very neatly and were also much needed after having quite a long day exploring the North Western side of England.

I quickly settled down after exploring our room and freshened up before leaving for dinner while my husband Googled on some options of restaurants near the area. We ended up settling for Tipu Sultan (for some majestic dining) in Birmingham, an opulent North Indian restaurant with a very impressive and luxurious interior with ornate ceilings and purple velvet sofas as it was recommended by quite a few people.

For satisfying the sweet tooth, we also went to Chaiiwala at the Lady Pool road and got some Rose Falooda. I've actually tried a few things from there before as well, from their cafe in Peterborough and luckily Chaiiwala has now just opened in London as well, so will be checking out that soon as well.

It took us around 35 minutes to get back to the hotel after dinner, BabyN' had already slept in the car as it got a bit late so husband immediately slept as well while I had to finish packing although I knew the bed was calling me out so badly!

The en-suite washroom had a walk-in shower and the Gilchrist & Soames toiletries that included spa therapy softening sea lettuce conditioning shampoo, stimulating sea wrack body wash and a cute oval soap. Inside the cupboard, there was a safe, an iron stand, table fan and a room fridge.

On Monday morning, we went to 'The Adderley Restaurant' for a buffet breakfast that was served on that day between 7:30-9:30 and had a hearty meal at the start of the day before heading to the spa. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the variety of the items that had been included in the buffet were really good. I've actually taken a photo of the breakfast items for you to have a look which you can see below. The tea and coffee were served fresh on the table.

Immediately after the breakfast, we headed straight to the spa to get changed and enjoy some family pool time (pool timing for children - 9:00 am). The hotel has a big pool as well as a Jacuzzi with the other facilities such as shower, changing area, sauna, steam room, plastic bags and a swim wear dryer inside the changing room. At the time when we were at the pool, I came to know that aerobics class was about to start and I was really interested in attending, but we had to checkout and leave for our next destination so was unable to join the fun. Nevertheless, I had a fabulous time in the Jacuzzi and quickly got changed after enjoying the hour of splashing with BabyN'.

Generally, I pack bags a night before the checkout so I don't have to rush the next morning, so we just had to go to the room to get our luggage and get in the car. I should however, mention that our hotel room had a card (see above) with the name of the housekeeping staff who had prepared our room, and I really liked this personal touch that had been added.

Lea Marston Hotel has a great location so we were easily able to explore a bit of Birmingham and Warwickshire both. Since we had already been to Birmingham earlier, we were able to see most of the popular tourist attractions back then. We didn't really bother seeing them again, but decided to explore some restaurants this time as the city has loads of Halal food options to offer. From my previous stay in Birmingham, I'd recommend visiting the Bull Ring in the city centre and just around that you'll basically find many other attractions such as Library of Birmingham, a monument called Three Wise Men, Symphony Hall and other things to see as well. Other popular attractions near the Lea Martson Hotel include the Cadbury World, Birmingham Sea Life Centre, Tamworth SnowDome and Twycross Zoo that are great for kids while the Flannels Designer Shopping store is a favourite among adults.

In Warwickshire, we explored the Warwick Castle and also wanted to see the Market Place and Lord Leycester Hospital but unfortunately they're closed on Mondays so wasn't able to see them from inside, but was able to see Smith Street and St. Nicholas Park.
