The Blessed Seed black seed oil soap

Botanically known as Nigella Sativa, the black seed is an extraordinary versatile herb that's being used since the last 4000 years. Also known as the seed of blessing, the black seed has been regarded as one of the most powerful natural remedies for skincare or for any other diseases. The Blessed Seed, a UK based company sells products formulated using the black seed such as the black seed oil, the black seed clay mask, the black seed soap, black seed oil capsules, cream and the black seed itself, to name a few!

The unscented gentle moisturising black seed oil soap is great to keep hands or body moisturised especially after some extensive cleaning but can also be used for daily or regular use. The big round bar of soap will definitely last long!

The black seed clay and black seed oil face mask comes in a 100 ml pot and its advised to apply it to the face generously and leave it for at least 10 - 15 minutes. The next step is to wash the face with lukewarm water. The texture of the mask when applying feels like thick cream and it does feel slightly oily. I previously purchased a clay mask from a store that sells products created using natural ingredients, however after using it a few times, I’ve realised it makes my skin quite dry and I’ve now stopped using the product. I assumed that this one being a clay mask, would leave my skin dry too. However, I was surprised because that didn’t happen. The texture of the mask is brilliant for exfoliating the skin, but it isn’t harsh on the skin either. The very small granules or particles, whatever you may like to call makes cleansing of the face better and it comes off easily with water after which I pat dry my face with a face cloth or a soft tissue. I’m not too sure how frequently the mask needs to be used, but I personally use face masks at least once or twice a week.

The black seed oil cream is suitable for all skin types and is moisturising and nourishing. The ingredients the bottle contains include different types of oil but one of the major ingredient is the black seed oil but it also contains a hint of rose which is much apparent when one smells the fragrance. It might be the reason that it could’ve been added to make it smell good, but rose has its own benefits too. I own a rose water bottle which I use quite frequently or when required. I like the fact that the bottle has a nozzle to bring out the cream and we don’t have to touch the whole thing when applying it because that keeps the rest of the product clean and hygienic. Also, the tall bottle is brilliant for storage because it takes lesser space than the round tub pots which makes it really easy to carry it in my hand bag.

The bottle doesn’t state if the cream has been particularly manufactured for face, hands or body, however, I use creams mostly just for hands. Since my skin, especially the T zone is already oily, I avoid applying any moisturiser especially creams or makeup with oil content, because it only increases the oil content on my face. However, sometimes I do apply a light face cream on the parts of the face where I may spot white flaky texture or dryness. Most of it does get absorbed in the skin, but it doesn’t feel like one hasn’t applied anything because a bit of oily texture still remains for some time. It helps in softening the skin, and the fragrance is nice and subtle, but not too overwhelming.

The Blessed Seed aims to produce high quality cold-pressed oil, that retains vital healing components. Although the black seed oil can also be consumed, its also said to be really good for hair and works well in enhancing both the growth and volume of the hair. I’ve inherited beautiful hair from my family, but I still I love to pamper my hair.  A head massage is everything one can get done to relax and relieve all the stress!

I generally use black seeds in food while cooking especially in a potato breakfast dish that I prepare at times. However, there can also be many other uses of black seeds and can also be consumed on its own. Due to the numerous benefits, the brand has also developed black seed oil capsules, however its better to consult the doctor before taking any new medication, even if it's a simple one and can be purchased without a prescription. It is strictly advised to some people such as expectant mothers not to consume certain products, including black seed oil capsules.
