Must-Have Makeup & Skincare Products for UK Festivals

As the festival season is just around the corner, you’d want to look for something that’s a hub of all your beauty picks to ensure you’re covered for creating all the incredible beauty looks you’ve always desired!

I used to use minimal makeup previously, but for a few months I’ve been researching about different makeup and beauty products to look for the best products for my skin type. Depending on the occasion, I love to create makeup looks but there are definitely some of my favourite makeup essentials that are ‘must-haves’ for me!

To name a few of these, I’d say applying a hydrating moisturizer on the face is always the first step for me. However, washing the face with Dove cream bar or Nivea gentle cleansing cream wash automatically moisturizes the face, and one does not feel the need to apply a face cream after that. However, if the weather is causing dryness in a few problem areas on the face, I apply any body milk or a light lotion available in my beauty box such as the Johnson's baby lotion.

Since I’ve got combination skin and my T-zone is oily, I opt for oil free makeup and beauty products such as the primer and a foundation. The primer I'm currently using is Miracle Prep by Max Factor which is both hydrating and illuminating, so it works well in keeping the skin hydrated. After the primer, I apply the foundation and my most preferred brand is Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Touche Eclat Le Teint Radiance Awakening foundation. This product gives full coverage, and I do not need any concealer or any other product to hide acne marks or blemishes, if any. My shade is B10 Porcelain, and it comes in a 30 ml bottle. I've also been recommended to use Fit Me! by Maybelline New York and the one I'm using is matte and poreless for normal to oily skin in shade 128, but although the product is very light on the pocket, I feel it doesn't give a very good coverage. However, it can work well with a concealer.

Also, I make sure not to buy a foundation that oxidises, as that can make the shade of the foundation darker. Moreover, as I've mentioned I’ve got two different foundation brands, but for a festive makeup look, I always choose the high-end product as it lasts longer and works perfectly without me having to use a concealer. Similarly, I also love a highlighter and it’s quite difficult for me to operate without Garnier Micellar cleansing water for removing makeup, as well as the cotton makeup pads that work perfectly in removing everything by the end of the day, after a festive event.

Another essential for my go to festival makeup look include a pigmented eye makeup palate, as it helps in beautifying the eyes. I'm currently using the N7 glamorous nudes eye palette that contains 8 nude eye shadow shades to highlight, enhance and define the eyes. Lastly, adding a highlighter in the end definitely adds some shine and sheen and my Lancome volumizing mascara and a hydrating lipstick  completes the whole makeup look.

These are some of my festival fix makeup and skincare products for popular festivals in the UK including Glastonbury or any other music festivals in the country.
