Hotel du Vin & Bistro has just turned 20, and on this very special occasion, the management had arranged a fabulous summer garden tea party in one of their green grounds. The hotel located in Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent, is nestled is the glorious countryside of Kent, more popularly known as the 'Garden of England.'

Hotel Du Vin & Bistro, also a beautiful architectural landmark with Georgian period details has a very historic background. Popular among the royal families, distinguished guests have not just stayed at the hotel, but have also celebrated their special occasions here. Among others, the most notable is Princess Victoria. It was great to have the opportunity to visit the Principal room at Hotel du Vin (Tunbridge Wells) which was the nursery when the princess stayed at the hotel with her mother, the Duchess of Kent. The beautiful Grade II listed building has attracted royal visitors since over 140 years. The hotel was originally had a much greater footprint, but now has been downsized and currently offers 34 rooms to guests.

On the occasion of their anniversary, Hotel du Vin & Bistro had arranged a guided tour of the hotel following which I got to enjoy the classic afternoon tea while further exploring the terrace and the vines of their two tier gardens in the warmth of the British summer. As part of the hotel tour I was taken to their wine cellar as well. Although I stay away from alcohol but for those who do consume it, the place can really be an alcohol heaven given the extensive variety available, sourced from all over the world. The highlight for me really was the chance to personally visit the room which once was Princess Victoria's nursery. The room still has a framed sample of the original wallpaper which used to adorn it's walls back then.

The Garden Tea Party at Hotel Du Vin was actually fantastic and child friendly as well. There was a bouncy castle and a cotton candy stall which were enough to keep the kids busy for hours. I too availed the opportunity to leave BabyN' alone for some time to play and have fun with other kids who were there. This meant I could peacefully enjoy our afternoon tea that came with lots of delicious goodies served beautifully in a 2 tier plate stand and included scones, chocolate cake & lemon tart. There were also some additional food items served on the garden table which the guests could help themselves to. Once I was finished with the tea, I also got one candy floss for myself which was delightful as it actually reminisced my childhood memories.

Glad that Hotel du Vin & Bistro has their own car park where we parked the car for free, and that was really handy because the council parking would have called for a little walk and I was in no mood of that, especially on a very warm day as it was then. We had a wonderful afternoon at the hotel and wish them all the best!

  10. Such a cute 20th anniversary Tea Party. I am totally in love with the adorable venue. Everything in this bash looks so inspirational to me. I will also be hosting such a fun 30th anniversary bash for my parents and would love to book one of their favorite Los Angeles event venues for that.
