The Meat Co. Steakhouse London

The Meat Co., a steakhouse at Westfield in West London is popular for it's finest steaks and burgers, and also offers a Halal menu to cater to the Muslim diners in and around the area.

I knew about The Meat Co. ever since it opened it's doors to the diners in Dubai but I thought it was just another restaurant that serves steak so I preferred sticking to the regular steak eateries when I was living in the 'D' town!

It is only now that I tried the food at The Meat Co. and have become quite a fan of their food!

I've always enjoyed eating steaks but the two things that I am particularly keen on are the taste itself and of course the sauce that accompanies. I'm not a fan of gravy when it comes to steaks, instead prefer a heavy duty sauce.

I was kindly invited to sample the menu at The Meat Co. and although it took almost 3 hours to reach the venue (30 minutes inclusive of finding a suitable parking spot and another 7 minutes, exclusive of walk to the mall), I shouldn't hesitate in saying that it was worth the journey.

Long drives for me are slightly disturbing because BabyN' doesn't enjoy them much, actually being confined to the car-seat is the MAJOR concern of my little one!

Parking:

After finally reaching Westfield, we parked inside a lane from where we further had to walk for some 7 minutes. The parking charge per hour is £2.80 and if you wish to go there by train, then Shepherd's Bush train station is very VERY near!

Ah, for the parking, make sure to carry the coins as the machine doesn't accept mobile payments. We didn't have coins so the husband had to go for a mini shopping spree at the fruit shop nearby, just to get some coins!

Seating & Interior:

Our table had already been reserved and we were taken to the first floor in a lift. As soon as we settled, we placed our order and the manager was kind enough to come to greet us.

The Meat Co. has a separate non-alcoholic dining area for the Halal diners, and that's where we had decided to sit as well. Even the menu card was separate with just their Halal food options, that was highly appreciated!

The Dining Experience:

For the starters, we ordered Beetroot & Chocolate bread (£3.5), Soup of the day (£6) which was butternut and squash and Beef cigars that came with a Balsamic mayo dip (£9.75, I think). I loved the beef cigars, they were different and tasted SO good! Can you feel the recommendation there? The bread was a decent sized sweetish loaf for a starter, which I would say should be good enough for 4 diners. The soup tasted good and was served with 2 slices of garlic bread.

For the mains, we ordered the Fillet Steak (£43), one of the finest steaks of the steakhouse, North American black Angus wet-aged for 35 days
to ensure high quality of the steak, which without any doubt was excellent.

For me, the steak was the show stopper of the entire meal, and it arrived presented beautifully! I chose chunky hand cut potato fries (£2.95) as a side and Green Peppercorn (£2.25) as the sauce, which together complimented the main perfectly! The portion did look slightly small at first glance but it was a thick cut and was very filling.

Besides that, we also opted for Lamb Chops Skewer (£25) that was served with mashed potatoes (£3) and the Rib-Meat Burger (200g for £20), served with onion rings (£2.75). The skewer was served on a stand that had the meat pieces which were cooked to perfection, just like we wanted, and the tender meat made it easy for us to cut the pieces through the skewer. It came along with some scattered veggies.

The burger had a huge chunk of braised beef rib meat that was further topped with various condiments and caramelised onions which made it taste slightly sweet. To eat the whole of it in a civilised manner especially in a public setting, I would recommend using your cutlery.

For the third and the final course (yes, my fav), we opted for The Chef's Tasting Platter (£15) which was a chocolatey heaven for any chocolate lover. It should be good enough for 4 after such a meaty meal but my husband and I managed to finish almost all of it. It was a sharing platter and consisted of a creme brulee, a Meat Co. brownie and a chocolate fondant pudding, among others - all of which we thoroughly enjoyed!

Drinks were cocktails, Passion Fruit and Lemonade (ranging between £4.75 - £5.5). BabyN' enjoys them the most so they are always the first thing we order at any restaurant now!

End Notes:

Although it was a weekday, The Meat Co., the steakhouse  that serves the finest steaks in London seemed quite busy. The staff was efficient and friendly and their service was swift. I loved the ambience, perfect for a date night with your loved one. They have candles flickering not just on every table but also displayed on racks near the windows that make the place look surreal.

You know how much I love candles, the Yankee melts especially! I myself don't know why!

Definitely a recommended place for your next meal out with friends or family any day or on your special occasion for a perfect carnivorous indulgence!
