Restaurant Review: Brioche Burger, London - UK

Brioche Burger Green Street London

It was Saturday when we dined at Brioche burger. I had often heard of it earlier but never got a chance to try it out. Located inside East Shopping Centre on the Green Street in East London, Brioche Burger serves full Halal menu that includes gourmet burgers, steaks and milkshakes. The Green Lane Mall seemed to be a perfect place for South Asian shoppers and even Nadiya Hussain, the winner of the British Bake Off was recently spotted there shopping!

Parking:

There is lots of parking available on the streets which is free on weekends. We went there at 9:00 pm but I think the parking is free 6:00 pm onward. As you walk inside the mall, just go straight ahead and you will easily be able to locate Brioche Burger.

Seating & Interior:

The restaurant is spread on two floors so there is ample seating available for the diners. Since I went there in Ramadan, it was extremely busy and that's the reason why I was unable to take a photo of the interior for you but you might be able to get an idea looking the pictures that are to follow. However, the lighting was dim so you might not find them very bright.

The Dining Experience:

Despite the restaurant being fully packed, the staff seemed to manage everything well and the food arrived just when we wanted it to be there.

The sides for us were Dirty Dozen (£4.50 for 6 chicken wings) and Sweet Potato Fries (£3.5). Both tasted good, however, I think dirty dozen would be spicy for kids and also gave me a sort of Chinese-y feeling because of the peppers, onion and the chilli sauce.

For the main food, we ordered Rib Eye Steak (£22.99) and Lone Ranger (£9.99) as recommended by the manager.

The 10oz steak was a 21 day dry aged Aberdeen Angus, it was moist and flavoursome and was served with a gravy which was okay. I added very less amount of the gravy as the steak on its own had a good flavour and some fat content too (warning, if you're on diet).

For me, the burgers have to be juicy but I found the patty slightly dry and it could have been more moist which would have certainly enhanced the flavour. I could have of course added the sauces on the table but then adding the extra other sauces overtakes the original taste.

The drinks were Pina Colada (£3.95) and Mojito (£3.95). Now Pina Colada is one of my FAVOURITE drinks but not every restaurant or cafe does it right. I tried both drinks and loved them. Missed the Alphonso Mango milkshake last time but there's always next time. (That also comes in the list of my favourites)!

For the dessert, I ordered Hot Cookie Dough (£4.5). I said 'I' because it was my decision (almost solely) to choose as my husband took BabyN' out to play and run around before our 1.5 hour journey back home.

You know how much I enjoy my desserts especially the ones that come in the combo of warm and cold. Cookie Dough was freshly baked soft cookie dough and was served with ice cream and chocolate sauce. It reminded us of the Ben & Jerry's cookie dough ice cream and was FAB!

End Notes:

The overall dining experience at Brioche Burger was good. Since it was Ramadan then, we were also served complimentary water and dates to break the fast which was a very thoughtful of them and a very sweet gesture.

For me, customer service is highly important and that's one of the major  deciding point to visit a restaurant again. Brioche Burger is a child-friendly place that gave me a homely feeling because the staff made the diners so comfortable.

  17. The food looks nice but I would not add gravy on the steak. I like the steak with a proper sauce, like peppercorn or blue cheese, not gravy. The burger looks delicious too and the prices seem very acceptable.

  27. How to pronounce the name? You go to so many places and then say you don't have access to halal food :) I also like my burgers to be juicy :P And yeah, I absolutely agree not all cafes and restaurants make good pinas
